Celebrate a life

Christmas can be a difficult time of year when you have lost someone you love. Celebrate a Life gives us a time to remember our loved ones at this poignant time of year and offer our support to all those living with lung cancer and their families.

On Sunday 3rd December, we held our one of Celebrate a Life services in the glorious St George’s Hall in Liverpool. For those unable to attend the event, you can now watch our virtual service. We are also running another event on Saturday 16th December in Glasgow City Chambers.

Dedicate a Light

We invite you to make a dedication to your loved one, choosing a sparkling bauble or twinkling light on our virtual tree. You can include a message or photo with your dedication, filling our tree with beautiful tributes to those we dearly miss.

Each light on our dedication tree will represent the love that still shines brightly for those who are no longer here to celebrate with us.

Click on the tree above to make your dedication or get in touch inmemory@roycastle.org if you would like a dedication bauble sending to you.

All monies raised during our Celebrate a Life appeal will help us to continue campaigning to see the introduction of a full national lung cancer screening programme, fund vital research, fight for better outcomes and provide essential emotional, practical and financial support to those living with lung cancer and their families.

Celebrate a Life supports all families affected by lung cancer, families like the Cassy’s…

“We are delighted to be part of this year’s Celebrate a Life campaign, allowing us to support Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s vital work whilst also honouring Dad’s memory at this poignant time of year.

“When my dad, Gerry passed away, we set up a Lasting Tribute to him. It helped us more than I could ever explain.

It was a special place we could go and write a thought or light a candle – something to show his legacy lives on, and Celebrate a Life is an extension of this. It’s a way for him to be part of the festivities.

“This year is extra special for us as it is our baby boy’s first Christmas. Whilst it breaks my heart that Dad will not be here for it, I know he will still be part of the day. His positive nature means he would want us to have the most joyous of days, and we will do everything we can to honour his wishes.”

“We will celebrate, and we will reminisce. We will laugh, and we may shed a tear. We will celebrate Dad’s life and we will celebrate our boy’s first Christmas. It’s what he would want us to do.”
