LCISS Administration Manager (Glasgow based)

This role will place your in the heart of the organisation, with the department that deals with people affected by lung cancer. This is an opportunity to embed strong administrative systems that support finance, admin and data management on behalf of the team.

The successful candidate with join the Information and Support team in Glasgow, and working remotely across the UK to support those affected by lung cancer.

Title: Lung Cancer Information & Support Team – Administration Manager

Responsible To: Director of Information & Support

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000

Hours: 34 hours per week

Location: Glasgow office, with some flexibility for home-based work

Overall objectives:

  • To manage the office function of the Glasgow base, working with Service Administrator to provide effective work environment and processes
  • To provide support to LCISS team on finance systems including purchase orders, issuing invoice
  • To support Information Officer and Service Assistant with information orders, stock monitoring and communications
  • To provide administrative support for face to face, group and digital services
  • To link with Ask the Nurse services directing callers or other contacts as appropriate
  • To work closely with the Director to ensure smooth running of services, the implementation of financial and organisational procedures and delivery of strategic priorities
  • To administer the patient grants service; contacting Nurses & patients and liaising with Finance department to deliver service
  • Work with colleagues in the Information & Support team to identify ways to reach people affected by lung cancer
  • To ensure service evaluations are carried out ensuring it contributes to team goals

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate phone contact with patients and carers by working with Service Co-ordinator & Managers
  • Co-ordinating data management and integration of service activity on Raiser’s Edge database
  • Support patient grant contacts, logging and assessing requests and carrying out evaluation
  • Line management responsibility, currently for 2 staff
  • Work with LCISS team to identify unmet needs and how services can respond
  • Engage with external contacts via phone, email and face to face contact and direct to appropriate charity contacts

About the team

The Information & Support team is based in Glasgow and Liverpool and offers a range of services to people affected by lung cancer across the UK. The team works closely with our Research, Finance, Income generation and Marketing teams.

Our main activities include: distributing information designed to help people with lung cancer; running an ask the nurse service offering support and advice to people affected by lung cancer; supporting people affected by lung cancer virtually via our Lung Cancer Connect service, and/or  face to face via our Support Group network and Information Days; promoting awareness of signs and symptoms and the benefit of early diagnosis of lung cancer.
