Defeat Delamere returns for its 5th year with 5k, 10k, 16k and Junior Race routes!

Event and Route Information

Taking place at Delamere Forest, Frodsham on the 13th of September 2026, participants can collect their race pack, including their race number and timing chip, at Registration on the day. Following that, there will be a collective warm-up session for the entire group before you head to the start line.
Runners will navigate the challenging landscape of this beautiful forest, encountering a mix of extended downhill stretches and straightaways. The course encourages a varied running style, propelling you towards the ultimate goal—the finish line.

5k

You must be 14 or older to take part in the 5k event.
10k
Start time – TBA
Race fee: £30
You must be 15 or older to take part in the 10k event.
16k
Start time – TBA
Race fee: £40
You must be 16 or older to take part in the 16k event.
Junior Race
Start time – TBA
Race fee: £15
You must be 4 or older to take part in the Junior Race. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and tickets will include a chaperone place in the race.

Parking: Accessible parking is available at Whitefield car park.
Refreshments: The café onsite at Delamere Forest visitor centre will be open to serve hot/cold drinks and light snacks.
Toilets: The main toilet block onsite at Delamere Forest visitor centre is accessible to all runners, spectators, and volunteers.
Bag drop: Please note: there will be no formal bag drop onsite.
Option to fundraise
All money from Defeat Delamere helps fund our vital work. In addition to your race fee, you can also set up a Just Giving page and raise money to help those living with lung cancer.
