Defeat Delamere returns for 2025 – with 5k and 10k races PLUS 16k route and mini-miler for the little ones.

Event and Route Information
Taking place at Delamere Forest, Frodsham on the 14th of September, participants can collect their race pack including their race number and timing chip at the registration tent on the day. Following that, there will be a collective warm-up session for the entire group before you head to the starting line.
Runners will navigate the challenging landscape of this beautiful forest, encountering a mix of extended downhill stretches and straightaways. The course encourages a varied running style, propelling you towards the ultimate goal—the finish line.

Race fee: £25
You must be 14 or older to take part in the 5k event.
10k
Start time – 09:45
Race fee: £30
You must be 15 or older to take part in the 10k event.
16k
Start time – 09:30
Race fee: £40
You must be 16 or older to take part in the 16k event.
Mini-miler
Start time – 10:05
Race fee: £10
You must be 3 years old or older to take part in the mini miler event

Other info
Parking: Accessible parking is available.
Refreshments: The café onsite at Delamere Forest visitor centre will be open to serve hot/cold drinks and light snacks.
Toilets: The main toilet block onsite at Delamere Forest visitor centre is accessible to all runners, spectators, and volunteers.
Bag drop: Please note: there will be no formal bag drop onsite.

All money from Defeat Delamere helps fund our vital work. In addition to your race fee, you can also set up a Just Giving page and raise money to help those living with lung cancer.
Lung cancer is the UK’s biggest cancer killer. It kills more people than breast, prostate and pancreatic cancers combined. Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only UK charity solely dedicated to supporting everyone affected by lung cancer. The charity also funds life-saving research to improve early detection, campaigns for access to life-lengthening treatments and challenges the dangerous misconceptions surrounding the disease.
