The London Marathon needs no introduction. As the most iconic marathon in the world, it attracts runners of all abilities who get to soak in the incredible sights of London and the electrifying atmosphere of the crowd.
The London Marathon is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Each charity runner is expected to raise £2,200 for the charity and run 26.2 miles, which is no easy task! This is months of fundraising, organising events, packing bags, creating raffles and hosting bake sales ON TOP OF training!
However, we’re on hand to help with fundraising ideas and support. Our team will also be there on the day, both cheering our runners on from the sidelines and at the finish line to applaud all your hard work.
The support from the crowds was amazing, and we got to see the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation team cheering us on twice on the route as they were stationed at two milestone areas! They were screaming my name as I passed by, it certainly kept me going!

Roy’s Runners is packed with friendly support, training tips and stories that keep you motivated whether you are lacing up for your first 5k or chasing a marathon PB. Many members run and fundraise for our charity, but there is no obligation at all. Just turn up, enjoy the chat and let the community carry you through your running journey.
