Looking for family-friendly Halloween events in Liverpool? Spooky Welly Walk returns to Sefton Park on Saturday 24 October 2026 for a fun-filled outdoor adventure designed especially for younger children.
Follow our Halloween-themed walking route and discover creepy crafts, fairground fun, dinosaurs, sideshows and plenty of spooky surprises along the way. Children can dress up, let their imaginations run wild and enjoy Halloween fun without the frightening scares.
Every ticket also helps Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation support people affected by lung cancer.

Fundraise and help families like Ian’s
Spooky Welly Walk is a wonderful family day out, but it also has a much bigger purpose. The money raised helps Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation provide information and support, campaign for earlier diagnosis and fund life-changing lung cancer research.
Ian’s lung cancer was discovered following a lung health check and found early enough, he still had treatment options. Today, he is in remission and enjoying time with his children and grandchildren.
“Without screening, I would never have known until it was far too late. Because doctors caught my cancer at a relatively early stage, I still had treatment options, and that gave me real hope.
Money raised from Spooky Welly Walk, one of my grandchildren’s favourite events, will help save more people like me.”

Where in Sefton Park does the walk begin?
Spooky Welly Walk starts at the Samuel Smith Obelisk, also known as “The Needle,” near the Aigburth Drive entrance to Sefton Park.
The starting point is opposite Liverpool Aigburth Hotel, 3 Aigburth Drive, Liverpool, L17 3AA.
If you are using a sat nav, enter postcode L17 3AA and look for the tall stone monument at the entrance to the park. Our event team and signage will guide you from there.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available all around Sefton Park. Please note that the starting point is at the Needle Monument opposite the Liverpool Aigburth Hotel.
Parking is limited and you may have to park some distance from the start so please plan for this.
How long is the trail?
Spooky Welly Walk follows a family-friendly route through Sefton Park, starting at the Samuel Smith Obelisk and finishing towards the southern end of the park.
Families can take the walk at their own pace, stopping along the way to enjoy the activities, entertainment and spooky surprises. The time needed will vary depending on how many activities you choose to explore.
Is the route suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs?
The route is set along the main park path meaning most activities will be accessible.
Some activities will be situated slightly off the path onto the grass which could make the ground uneven and become muddy depending on the weather.
Do adults need tickets?
Yes, everyone attending Spooky Welly Walk needs a ticket, including adults.

What should we wear?
It’s Halloween! We encourage all families (grown-ups too) to dress up in costumes! And of course, don’t forget your wellies!
Please be aware that this event is outdoor. We advise that you check the weather and dress appropriately.
What happens if it rains?
It wouldn’t be a proper welly walk without the chance of a puddle or two! Spooky Welly Walk will go ahead come rain or shine, so pack your waterproofs, pull on your wellies and embrace the adventure.
If severe weather means we need to make any changes, we’ll contact ticket holders directly.
Will food and drink be available?
All that spooky exploring is bound to work up an appetite! You’ll find a café in Sefton Park, food vendors along the route and plenty of places to eat nearby. You’re also welcome to bring your own snacks or a picnic to keep your little monsters fuelled for the adventure.

Can I buy tickets on the day?
Unfortunately not. As event organisers we need to ensure each of our time slots aren’t overcrowded and have therefore set a maximum capacity for each slot.
Tickets must be booked in advance.
Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, tickets for the Spooky Welly Walk are non-refundable unless the charity has to make the difficult decision to cancel the event. All money raised from ticket sales goes towards vital lung cancer research and helping families and patients living with lung cancer.
What does my ticket include?
Your ticket will include the majority of our activity stations. Some of our activity stations do have a small additional cost and all monies raised at Spooky Welly Walk activity stations will go directly to the charity. Keep your eyes peeled on Facebook for our detailed event map!
Are there toilet facilities?
Ladies, Gents and mobility toilet facilities and baby changing facilities are all available at Oasis Café near the centre of the route by the fairground.
There will also be additional portaloos placed at the start and the finish.
How much sponsorship do I need to raise?
Each child that raises £50 will receive a gift from us for their hard work and support. The gift will include a Golden Ticket, to use on the day, a sweet treat and a couple of surprises!
