Christmas Tapathon

Christmas Tapathon

Registration fee: from £6 Minimum sponsorship: as much as you can
13th December 2020 United Kingdom

Registration for this year’s Christmas Tapathon has now closed ahead of the main event on Sunday 13th December. We look forward to seeing you in the National Tapathon 2021!

This Christmas, we’re inviting dance schools, individuals and families across the country to put on their dancing shoes and spread a bit of joy with the Roy Castle Christmas Tapathon.

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be sent a cracking video link with a full guide on how to learn the dance routine. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned dancer or if you’ve got two left feet – anyone can take part!

Then, at 11am on Sunday 13th December we want everyone up and down the country to perform the dance at the same time  – from the comfort of your home, to get the UK dancing. We know from the success and feedback from our last Tapathon how much joy it brought to people to learn the routine and be part of something so special.

Not only will this be something fun everyone can take part in during the lockdown, but everyone who signs up gets an exclusive festive Tapathon medal, and best of all it helps fund lung cancer support to those who need much needed help.

Can’t make it on the day? If you can’t make 11am but would still like to participate, you can watch the video from the day and do it at a later date!

We are here to support you every tap of the way!

Once you are registered, we will send you:

  • A confirmation email with the link to access your tutorial video clips. There will be videos sent for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, so please choose a routine you are comfortable with.
  • Tips and suggestions for fundraising
  • Thank you and medal to congratulate you once you complete your Tapathon success!

Where your money goes

Your support will help us to raise awareness of lung cancer, provide support through specialist lung cancer nurses, information materials, support groups, and continue our vital research into early detection of the disease.

Unfortunately, we receive no government funding and therefore our work relies on the support of individuals like you. Due to the current circumstances, there is a huge increase in our Ask the Nurse helpline and the launch of our Keep in Touch Support Service, so every donation is helping us continue to do important work for those who need it most.

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only UK charity wholly dedicated to supporting those affected by lung cancer, and at this very worrying time our patients are at even more at risk of becoming seriously ill if they contract COVID-19.  Please know that we are working hard to make sure they are fully supported during the pandemic; our office is closed, but we are still here

So, join us and take part in our Christmas Tapathon event raising money for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
