Supporting the roll out of screening

The early detection of lung cancer has been at the core of our charity since it was founded 1990. We are in full support of the lung cancer screening roll-out and are proud to work with the national team at NHS England, as well local programmes and trusts to ensure as many people as possible benefit from this life-saving initiative.

Driving uptake

We can provide support in the following three areas:

Marketing

This can include all forms of online and offline marketing including social media ad campaigns, radio and out of home advertising.

PR and Comms

This can include the drafting and distribution of press releases, interviewing patients and clinicians, and coordination of media days.

Community Engagement

This involves the planning and execution of local events, engaging with communities to encourage participation and address any concerns or fears that could stop people from attending.

We recognise each screening programme within the lung cancer screening roll-out requires different areas and degrees of support. We offer a very flexible approach, creating a bespoke approach for each programme.

For some programmes this solely involves organising community engagement events within the region. For others, where resources where are stretched, we manage all of its marketing, communications and engagement activity.

“The Roy Castle team are excellent in their collaborative approach. With regards to providing universal communications to support TLHC programmes, the comms produced are of a high aesthetic standard and have clear ley information inside them to facilitate uptake into TLHC. The communications approach coupled with community engagement events with the mega lungs and a team of experts in lung cancer is a must need for any programme looking to engage and empower communities within your TLHC programme.

The Roy Castle team are the perfect recipe for increasing uptake, communicating with patients and supporting TLHC programmes in the go live and mobilisation process.”

– Dan Craddock, Programme Manager

Marketing resources

As part of our work with NHS England, we have developed a series of awareness materials to increase awareness of lung cancer screening and the benefits of attending – even if people feel well and have no symptoms.
