Community Fundraiser

This is your opportunity to join the charity’s dynamic fundraising team, taking on responsibility for projects and activity within the area of community fundraising to help achieve the annual targeted budget.  This role is varied, fast paced, and involves evening and weekend work.

Location: Office based in Liverpool, with hybrid working

About the role

This role will involve taking on existing projects and taking the lead on new fundraising projects . You will deliver excellent donor care and donor relationship management for our supporters, in order to maximise the lifetime value of supporters through development and retention.

This role also forms part of the charity’s growth programme to recruit new supporters through existing fundraising methods as well as supporting the creation of new fundraising projects.

Position in Organisation

  • Reports to the Fundraising Manager/Director of Fundraising.
  • Support from Volunteer co-ordinator
  • Liaises at all levels inside the organisation.
  • Relates to supporters, individuals, volunteers and groups.
  • Key relationships with fundraising
  • Work closely with IT, and admin teams.
  • External facing to public supporters.

Scope of Role

  • Working with the Fundraising team to achieve annual fundraising income target.
  • Based in Head Office Liverpool/Homeworking but working on projects across a wide geographical area.
  • Working within a fast-moving environment with changing priorities and able to work on several projects at any one time.
  • Working as a motivated, positive, and effective member of the fundraising team.
  • Taking the lead on Community Fundraising activities across the UK working with individuals, organisations, community groups and educational settings
  • Offer excellent donor care and customer service to supporters, volunteers, groups and associations, beneficiary events and individuals.
  • Dealing with supporter enquiries and providing excellent customer service and administration.
  • Ensuring Raiser’s Edge/NXT is maintained with accurate and up to date information on all relevant supporters.
  • Working on nationwide initiatives.
  • Attend events and initiatives where needed, including out of hours work.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of fundraising best practice as set out in the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Practice and ensure that all activities comply fully with the relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation.
  • Any other duty as required by the line manager commensurate with the post.

Person Specification

Education / qualifications / knowledge (E = essential, D = desirable)

  • Numerate and literate, preferably educated to at least A level standard E
  • Knowledge of the principles of good donor management or customer care E
  • Understands principles of relationship building E
  • Experience of working effectively with others towards common goals and targets E

Experience

  • Experience of working in fundraising in a paid capacity D
  • Experience of working with volunteers and/or community groups D
  • Administration experience D
