The NHS is exploring a new way for people to request a chest X-ray online, through NHS 111 Online, in collaboration with a small number of lung screening clinics. This digital self-request service makes it easier for people to get tested when they need it. Ultimately, it aims to improve access and remove barriers.
To support this, we want to hear from people with lived experience of lung cancer so we can make the service as useful and user-friendly as possible.
What’s involved
An NHS 111 Online researcher will invite you to speak with them via Microsoft Teams. The session will take no longer than 1 hour, at a time and date that suits you.
During the session, we will ask about:
- Your general health and how you manage it
- Your experience of getting tested and receiving a diagnosis (not treatment)
- Your feedback on a prototype of the new self-request service
You’ll also complete a simple task using the prototype, then share your thoughts on the experience.
Who We’re Looking For
We are keen to speak with people who:
- Are over 40 years old
- Have successfully completed treatment for lung cancer
- Are available for a 1-hour online session between 7 April and 8 May
- Live in England.
Why Take Part
Your experience will help the NHS improve this service for future patients.
As a thank you for your time, you will receive a £50 voucher.
