Want to help us create a patient-centred film? We’ve been contacted by a production company, Same but Different, which is developing a new short film that highlights the lived experience of individuals diagnosed with NTRK fusion-positive cancer.
The film will be used to educate healthcare professionals, giving them deeper insight into patient-centred care through real stories and perspectives.
Who They’re Looking For
For this project, the production company is hoping to speak with:
- One adult patient
- One paediatric patient and their parent(s)
Patients will have received a diagnosis of NTRK fusion-positive cancer. Experience with treatment using a TRK inhibitor would be ideal, but is not essential.
Why Your Story Matters
Your perspective can help healthcare professionals understand what it’s really like to live with this rare cancer, and how care can be more patient-centred. By sharing your experience, you are helping shape education that could improve care for future patients.
Our Approach
Our filmmaking approach is informal, relaxed, and entirely led by your story. There are no scripted questions — just space for you to share what matters most to you.
We fully respect your confidentiality and will only make contact with individuals who have given explicit permission.
How You Can Help
If you know someone within your society or network who may be willing to share their experience, we would be grateful if you could:
- Ask their permission for us to reach out, or
- Pass our contact details on to them directly.
To get in touch or discuss participation further, please contact Dimi Kashchiev from Same but Different at dimi@samebutdifferentcic.org.uk who will be happy to answer any questions and explain the process in more detail.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to help educate healthcare professionals and make a real impact through patient stories.
