Raising awareness across the whole of the UK

View all Awareness

This November, we’re hitting the road again and running lung cancer awareness events.

The last two years, we’ve worked in partnership with NHS England and headed to towns and cities from Middlesbrough to Bournemouth. This year, we’re venturing out on our own so we can also run events in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Armed with our infamous inflatable lungs, we’ll be kicking off in Scotland, followed by events in England and Wales before finishing the month in Northern Ireland.

Here’s how the month is shaping up…

Scotland events

Fri 1 Nov: Forge Shopping Centre, Glasgow
Tues 5 Nov: Asda Superstore, Falkirk
Wed 6 Nov: Asda Superstore, Alloa

England events

Mon 11 Nov: Number One Rochdale, South Asian Cancer Health Awareness
Wed 13 Nov: Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral

The importance of face to face conversations

Lung cancer is a highly misunderstood disease. From confusion around symptoms to being compounded by stigma, lung cancer is plagued by misconceptions.

By getting out into the community and starting open, honest and even positive conversations about lung cancer is a vital role in improving early detection.

Our team can help people:

  • Better recognise symptoms
  • Debunk misconceptions about who can get lung cancer
  • Feel confident to seek help and, if necessary, push for further investigation
  • Access support services
  • Feel more hopeful for the future.

Whilst this year’s campaign is only just starting, we are already looking ahead to next year, so if you would like to help us run an awareness event in your local area, please get in touch.
