Making a difference
Playing Christmas Raffle is an easy and exciting way to support people living with lung cancer. The past 18 months have been incredibly difficult for us all but imagine living through the pandemic when you also have lung cancer.
We have been a constant source of support for people affected by lung cancer, providing practical, emotional, and financial help to people like Lucy.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am for Christmas! Because, after my second lung cancer diagnosis, I didn’t think I’d get to see another, let alone 11 more!
I was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010. Initially, we thought it had been caught early and I had surgery to remove the tumour. However, just weeks later my symptoms returned, and I was re-diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
My daughter was just two at the time and it was unlikely I would see her third birthday or have another Christmas together.
Thankfully, this wasn’t the case.
I had five rounds of chemotherapy and, miraculously, my next scan, and every scan since, has been completely clear. I’m still in remission 11 years later and my daughter, my pride and joy, is now a teenager.
During my treatment, I reached out to Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation for support. I received some of its fantastic literature, joined its supportive forum and am now part of its latest awareness campaign, Spot the Difference, which aims to help people recognise early symptoms of lung cancer and take action.
It is a wonderful charity and does so much to help people like me, even during the incredibly difficult circumstances and pressure of the last 18 months. However in order to do continue this essential work, they need our support too.
Playing Christmas raffle is an easy and exciting way to show your support, whilst also being in with a chance to win one of three fantastic prizes.”
