Online Support Sessions

We run a series of online support sessions via Zoom focusing on a variety of lung cancer-related topics.

Run by experienced facilitators, the online support sessions give you the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics whilst connecting with others in a similar situation. Topics range from self-care, symptom management, taking care of your health, exercise, diet and sleep to getting the most from your consultations, and managing after treatment ends.

In some sessions, lung cancer is barely even mentioned! Instead, people chat about everyday things from holidays to favourite films!

Current sessions

Sessions typically run every fortnight for 6-8 sessions.

  • Living with Lung Cancer (Wednesdays 2-3pm, every fortnight)
  • Lung Cancer Surgery Support (Tuesdays 7-8pm, weekly for 8 weeks)
  • Genetic Mutation Driven Lung Cancer Support (Wednesdays 6.30 – 7.30pm, weekly for 8 weeks)
  • Carers Group (Friday 10-11am, every fortnight)

You can drop in and out of sessions as you need to. There is also no pressure for you to speak and share experiences; you can sit and listen and join in when you feel comfortable. The facilitators are here to help you navigate your experience.

Still not sure what to expect from an online support sessions? Here’s Janice, one of the facilitators, chatting about what to expect:

I’m so glad I joined the online support sessions. You don’t always want to burden your loved ones with your worries so the sessions give you really good place to share those feelings. It’s a great sounding board. They understand your worries. They listen and they get it. It’s very freeing.
