Consider yourself a bit of a comedian? Voted class clown in school, or regularly have your friends and colleagues in stitches? Put your funny flair to good use by fundraising and taking part in our fantastic comedy gala – Beyond a Joke!
We’ve teamed up with The Comedy Trust for the fourth time to give budding comedians the opportunity take part in their sell out comedy course for beginners and raise money to help those affected by lung cancer.
Working with a leading circuit comedian, you will benefit from a five-week workshop where you’ll learn to create and shape your own stand-up routine. You’ll then take to the stage to perform in front of an audience of family and friends at the prestigious Royal Court Theatre.
If you’d like to take part then simply register your interest or sign up by filling in the form at the bottom of this page.
Yes, of course I was absolutely terrified. But when the adrenalin kicked in, I was off and running, and I enjoyed every second of it. The training from the professionals was amazing, and it all came together on the night. I think someone even laughed in the right places! It’s a brilliant experience and helps a great charity too.
Graphic designer Ricky Williams, of Everton, took part in last year’s event, and just about survived his baptism of fire.

Not everyone wants to run a marathon; Beyond a Joke is a fantastic and unique way to raise money and help those living with lung cancer.
