This year would have marked Roy Castle’s 90th birthday.
Instead, he was taken far too soon.
But despite his death to lung cancer in 1994, Roy’s legacy and his dedication to making things better for the future generations lives on.

Pip had been a heavy smoker for a lot of her life. She had given up smoking for ten years or more but she was aware that lots of people – like Roy – do get lung cancer having never smoked. So, being a curious and inquisitive person, she thought that this ought to be solved. That was something she really want to try and help along if she could.

We doubt we would be where we are today without his dedication and selflessness. We now stand on the cusp of national screening programme for lung cancer which could help to save thousands of lives. This is Roy’s legacy, and we are so incredibly proud to bear his name and continue the work he set out to achieve – making the future brighter for the generations that followed him.
