Leave a legacy gift
Gifts in wills account for a third of our fundraising income and they are a really important way of funding our activities.
Once you have remembered family and friends, we would be really grateful if you could remember Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Just 1% (or more if your circumstances allow) will help us in the fight against lung cancer. Your donation will help fund;
Research into improving early detection of lung cancer and the patient experience.
Patient support activities including free telephone helpline, a network of nurse led patient support groups, a dedicated online forum, a range of information materials and personal grants to lung cancer patients.
Awareness campaigns highlighting the early signs and symptoms of lung cancer so that more people are diagnosed sooner and receive effective treatment, ultimately saving lives.
Duncan MacKenzie is leaving a gift in his Will in memory of his daughter Laura
“My wife and I are leaving a gift in our Will which will be Laura’s legacy to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Laura passed away aged 24, two weeks before her wedding day.
Laura was the most positive, determined and happy young woman who achieved so much in her short life.
Laura moved to London from Edinburgh at 17 to attend dance college. Her biggest ambition was to be on the West End stage and she achieved this. Laura carved out a career in the health and fitness industry, bought her own home and found the love of her life.
At this time, she had a constant cough and pain in her left lung. Laura was then misdiagnosed for nine months even though she had the five main symptoms of lung cancer. During her subsequent treatment Laura fought against this awful disease with every inch of her being.
Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation gave Laura strength, knowledge and courage and her wish was to raise awareness for early detection of lung cancer and to remove the stigma that lung cancer can have. We hope that the gift we are leaving in her memory to the charity will help achieve those goals.
Laura is dearly loved and missed by all who knew her. Laura’s love of life still gives us the courage to carry on and to raise money for the charity.”
