ACS Business Supplies

Local business, ACS Business Supplies, nominated us as its charity of the year in 2018 after their colleague, Mark, died of lung cancer aged just 38. Since then, the team get flat out to fit its £20,000 target.

There have been football tournaments, lunchtime quizzes and the three lakes challenge, where employees kayaked across the largest lakes in England – Coniston Water, Windermere and Ullswater in the Lake District in under 12 hours.

Other staff members have also taken on charity skydives and 10k races.

The company also donated 10p from every order placed for the entire year and encouraged staff to opt in to the company’s payroll giving scheme.

By the end of the year, they smashed their original target and raised £30,000 for the year.

Their efforts were applauded and they were rightly awarded with the Local Business Award at our Star Awards evening in May 2019.
