Former Manchester United player, David May, nominated us as his chosen charity for his annual golf day in September 2019
On Friday 6th September, David held his annual charity golf day at the North Manchester Golf Club with 68 players signing up to take on the 18 holes.
With great weather, a great course and plenty of laughs, the event was a huge success.
Together with local businesses providing charity auction prizes, an incredible £17,700 was raised on the day, making it the biggest fundraising event David had ever held.
Throughout the day our Corporate Fundraising team worked with David to make sure everyone had a brilliant time, using the opportunity to raise awareness of lung cancer and highlight how the day would benefit so many people affected by the disease.
We can’t thank the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation team enough, absolutely superb ladies. When David and I set out on the journey I never once thought we would raise the amount we have. Awesome…!Jon Blythe, one of the events organisers
A huge thank you to David, Jon and everyone involved in making the day such a success.
