It’s lung cancer awareness month and we’re supporting Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s Be Unforgettable campaign, challenging the misconceptions of lung cancer and empowering those with symptoms to take action.

Spike Elliott

Spike’s story challenges not one, not two but THREE major misconceptions…

He was a fit and healthy 49-year-old, who ran 5ks for fun. His main symptoms were shoulder pain and fatigue. He was told he had 6-12 to live… That was nearly five years ago.

Glenys Gregory

When Glenys was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, she hoped for a miracle. Three years later, she is now in remission, has watched her daughter get married and is enjoying life as a grandma.

Natasha Loveridge

Natasha couldn’t possible have lung cancer. She was a 49-year-old, a primary school teacher who enjoyed hiking, climbing and yoga. She didn’t fit “the profile”…

Nuzhat Kazmi

On the surface, Nuzhat’s lung cancer story is nothing short of horrifying. However, beneath all the despair and dark times, there is hope and this is what Nuzhat wants people to take away from her experience.

Dave Marcus

David only went to the doctor because his partner insisted. He didn’t think his persistent cough was anything to worry about, especially as he had never smoked.

Forget everything you think you know about lung cancer.

Petra Maudgil

You don’t need to have a cough to have lung cancer. Just ask Petra…

Petra’s only symptoms were shoulder pain which she thought was caused by swimming and fatigue which she put down to the menopause and just life in general!

Jackie Head

In March 2023, Jackie had surgery to remove the tumour in her lung.

Seven months on and Jackie is currently completing the Snowman Trek – the world’s toughest trek – in Bhutan.
