Let’s Roll
In 2018, we launched our #LetsRoll campaign, calling for lung health checks to be rolled out across the UK, after several pilot projects including our own in Nottingham demonstrated they can save lives.
Thousands of you signed our online petition and wrote to your MP. We are incredibly proud to say our voice has been heard in England; NHS England has announced the roll out of 14 targeted lung health checks across the country.
This is, without doubt, incredible news and, if implemented properly, will have a major impact on lung cancer survival rates and will provide further evidence to support a UK wide lung cancer screening programme.
Our lung health check in Nottingham
In 2017, we funded a lung health check in Nottingham where we detected several cases of early stage lung cancer, as well as many other respiratory health conditions.
I know how devastating lung cancer can be; my husband David died six months after being diagnosed. But, because of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and its supporters, my story is very different. If it hadn’t have been for that health check, I don’t know how far my cancer would have spread before it was found. It saved my life.

In 2018, we extended our project to a population of 36,000 to diagnose more people earlier and save more lives.
